Judge Delays Drew Peterson's Murder-For-Hire Trial Again
CHESTER, Ill. (AP) -- A judge has delayed Drew Peterson's murder-for-hire trial.
The former suburban Chicago police officer is accused of trying to hire a fellow prison inmate to kill the prosecutor who helped convict him in his ex-wife's death.
Peterson was scheduled for trial next month, but the judge agreed Tuesday to delay the trial until Nov. 13 to give both sides more time to prepare.
Peterson's attorneys want to hire an expert witness to review taped conversations between Peterson and a prison informant.
The former Bolingbrook police officer has pleaded not guilty to charges of soliciting an inmate to kill Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow.
Glasgow prosecuted the 2012 case in which Peterson was sentenced to 38 years in prison for the 2004 bathtub drowning death of Kathleen Savio.
