Jorge Soler Returns To Cubs' Lineup

(CBS) Out since June 6 with a hamstring injury, Jorge Soler is returning to the Cubs' lineup. He'll serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth when Chicago opens its three-game set at Oakland on Friday night.

Soler strained his left hamstring two months ago. After sitting out for about six weeks, he's been rehabbing at Triple-A Iowa for the past two weeks.

Soler is hitting .223 with five homers, 13 RBIs and a .699 OPS in 50 games this season.

To make room for Soler, the Cubs designated reliever Joe Nathan for assignment, per reports. The 41-year-old Nathan had made three appearances for Chicago without being scored upon this season.
