Jorge Soler Believes He'll Be Back Before End Of Regular Season

(CBS) Cubs outfielder Jorge Soler believes he can return from a left oblique strain prior to the end of the regular season.

Soler aims to start swinging a bat again Friday. He's been on the disabled list since Aug. 24.

"I feel much better," Soler told the Tribune.

Soler has had an injury-plagued season, missing nearly five weeks earlier in the year with an ankle injury. He's hitting .265 with seven homers, 42 RBIs and a .710 OPS in 90 games.

In his absence, the Cubs have been using Chris Coghlan, Kris Bryant and Chris Denorfia in right field. The recently acquired Austin Jackson could also see time there.
