Jonathan Toews Named Selke Trophy Finalist

(CBS) -- Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews has been named one of three finalists for the Frank J. Selke Trophy by the NHL.

The trophy is given every year to the best defensive forward. The other finalists are Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins and Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings. All three were finalists last season, with Bergeron taking the trophy.

Toews previously won the award in 2013 and was also a finalist for in 2010. This season, Toews ranked fifth in the NHL with a +30 plus/minus, a career high, and also ranked sixth in the NHL in winning 56.5 percent of his faceoffs.
