Some Joliet, Illinois, residents asked to shelter in place due to execution of warrant

Some Joliet, Illinois, residents were asked to shelter in place Thursday morning as police executed a search warrant.

Residents in the immediate area around the 400 block of Garnsey Avenue were urged to shelter in place in a bulletin put out at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Police said they were executing a search warrant as part of an "ongoing investigation." Further details were not released Thursday morning.

By 10:35 a.m., the scene had been secured and the shelter-in-place advisement had been lifted. Police detained a man after executing the search warrant.
