John Fox Responds To Mike McCarthy's Bears Rip

By Chris Emma--

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (CBS) -- Packers coach Mike McCarthy didn't hold back when looking ahead to Week 1 in Chicago. Speaking at a fan luncheon in Green Bay last week, McCarthy made a strong prediction for the game with the Bears.

"We will proudly stand as the 95th team in the history of the Green Bay Packers when we kick Chicago's (butt)," McCarthy said to the crowd of fans.

To no surprise, the crowd responded with raucous cheers.

On Monday, Bears coach John Fox was asked about the comment from his rival coach.

"I looked at the tape," Fox said. "You know, they should be confident."

The Bears and Packers will square off on Sunday at Soldier Field, where McCarthy's words will be put to test.
