CHICAGO (CBS) -- Donald Trump Jr.'s tweet comparing Syrian refugees to Skittles has drawn widespread condemnation.

But a former congressman from Illinois is taking credit for it.
One-term U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh took to Twitter to claim the idea as his own, and thanking Trump Jr. for agreeing with it.
