Jennifer Hudson Gets Protective Order Against Ex-Fiance

CHICAGO (AP) — Domestic drama for Oscar winner and singer Jennifer Hudson after police are called to her southwest suburban home.

Hudson has obtained an order of protection against her former fiance David Otunga.

In her petition, she claims Otunga harassed and threatened her and in the court documents Hudson claims "I am now living in fear."

Police say Otunga was removed from the couple's home in Burr Ridge Illinois Thursday night after being notified of the order.

Burr Ridge Police Chief John Madden tells the Associated Press Otunga "left the residence without incident."

Tracy Rizzo, the attorney for the former WWE star, says Hudson petitioned for the order "in an effort to gain an unfair advantage in the custody dispute" involving the former couple's 8-year-old son.

Rizzo says Otunga "has never abused or harassed" Hudson and calls the protection order "meritless" and says Hudson made "false allegations" against him. Rizzo says Otunga has been the primary caregiver of their son.

According to Otunga's attorney, he will petition the court to have the hearing date originally scheduled for December 7th to be moved up to November 21st so "he can spend Thanksgiving with his son."

Hudson's representative didn't immediately return a request for comment Friday.
