Jerry Reinsdorf, Rocky Wirtz Rank In Top 10 Of Chicago Magazine's Power 100

(CBS) White Sox and Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf was ranked fifth in Chicago Magazine's Power 100, while Blackhawks owner Rocky Wirtz was tabbed ninth. The newest edition of the annual rankings -- which rate Chicagoans with the most "clout" -- was released Monday.

Chicago Magazine listed the championship contention of the Bulls, the construction of the Bulls' practice facility and the White Sox's savvy signing of slugger Jose Abreu as accomplishments for Reinsdorf.

Last year, Reinsdorf was rated 11th, while Wirtz was ranked sixth.

Other sports figures in the city making the Power 100 were Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany at No. 13, Cubs owner Tom Ricketts at No. 41 and Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein at No. 79.

A notable-but understandable omission on this year's list was Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, who was ranked No. 23 in the 2014 Power 100 but struggled mightily as the Bears collapsed in 2014.

Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel was rated first in the Power 100 by Chicago Magazine.
