Man, 50, Found Dead In Kitchen After Fire At Jefferson Park Home

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was found dead Thursday night after firefighters put out a fire in a Jefferson Park neighborhood home on the Northwest Side.

Emergency crews responding to the fire found 50-year-old Rodger W. Grady just before 9 p.m. in the kitchen of a single-story bungalow in the 4500 block of North Laporte, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Grady, who lived on the same block, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, the Chicago Fire Department said.
