Jackie Robinson West Stays Alive In Little League World Series

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) -- Joshua Houston's tiebreaking RBI single in the fifth inning lifted Chicago's Jackie Robinson West to an 8-7 victory over Cumberland, Rhode Island, on Monday night in the Little League World Series.

After Darion Radcliff's RBI single tied the score, Houston drove a line drive down the left field line to bring in pinch-runner Lawrence Noble from second base.

Cumberland scored five runs in the bottom of the third to take a 7-6 lead, but couldn't score in the last two innings and was eliminated.

Chicago will play Pearland, Texas, on Tuesday night.

The city of Chicago announced plans for a watch party at Jackie Robinson Park, 10540 S. Morgan Park St., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
