Inmate Dies At Cook County Jail

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Cook County jail inmate who died Thursday morning may have committed suicide, officials said.

Jacklyn Clair, 30, had been booked Jan. 27 at the jail at 2700 S. California for a retail theft charge, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office and sheriff's office spokeswoman Sophia Ansari.

Clair was found Thursday morning and appeared to have taken her own life, Ansari said. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:30 a.m., the medical examiner's office said.

There were no signs of foul play. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
