Indiana Woman Furious That Neighbor Who Shot Her Dogs Hasn't Been Charged
(CBS) -- A DeMotte, Indiana woman whose dogs were shot to death and burned by a neighbor is furious that he's not being charged with a crime, reports WBBM's Mike Krauser.
Police say 51-year-old Randy Wall was justified in shooting the three husky mix dogs owned by Dana Drew because they say he was protecting his property.
Wall raises deer and he told police the dogs, which had gotten loose, were trying to dig under a fence to get to the deer and after unsuccessful attempts to chase them off with an ATV, he shot and killed them and then burned their bodies.
Drew learned what happened after Wall's stepson posted a picture of the dead dogs on Snapchat.
"I can never un-see that," Drew said. "That's what I live with, that's what I can't sleep because of because they're gone and their last moments haunt me just terribly."
She doesn't believe Wall's story. Thousands of people have signed a petition on Change.org urging the police and prosecutors to reconsider the case.
