Independent Police Review Authority Supervisor Arrested For DUI New Year's Day

(CBS) -- An investigator who's job it is to police the police is in trouble with the law.

George Roberts, an investigating supervisor with the Independent Police Review Authority, was arrested early on the morning of New Years Day on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The agency, known as IPRA for short, investigates allegations of police misconduct. According to police, Roberts was pulled over at 1:20 a.m. on the 1500 block of West 85th Place.

Police say he his car was moving out of his lane and he failed to use his turn signal, when he was pulled over.

He was cited for not having insurance, according to police, and DUI.

IPRA says it has handed the investigation over to the Inspector General's office.
