Illinois Primary: Donald Trump Wins
CHICAGO (CBS) – Donald Trump is continuing to roll toward the GOP presidential nomination, defeating his three main rivals in the Illinois Republican primary.

Trump had enjoyed double-digit leads in several polls in the run-up to Tuesday's contest.

The fortunes for two of Trump's rivals centered elsewhere—in Ohio for John Kasich and in Florida for Marco Rubio. Ted Cruz continues to run second in the overall delegate count.
After a devastating loss in Florida to Trump, Rubio suspended his campaign.
On the other hand Kasich lived to see another day, winning his home state of Ohio.
While the billionaire didn't have a traditional political apparatus in the state, he had plenty of support.
A Trump rally at the University of Chicago on Friday was canceled due to security concerns, according to his campaign, disappointing thousands of supporters who waited several hours to hear Trump speak.
Hundreds of protesters massed both inside and outside the venue.
However, he returned to Illinois over the weekend, appearing at a rally in downstate Bloomington.
