How does someone lose a large amount like $76,000 or a million dollars? More often that not, Frierichs says the money is a secret.

"It's almost always someone passes away and did not tell their heirs," he said.

As for this family, the money is going to two children, one of those children is caring for a grandchild who's special needs.
