Illini Land 4-Star Recruit Jalen Coleman

(CBS) Four-star shooting guard Jalen Coleman has verbally committed to the Illinois men's basketball team, becoming the third member of the Illini's 2015 class.

Coleman picked Illinois over fellow finalists UNLV and Notre Dame.

Coleman is a 6-foot-4 guard and a native of Indianapolis, making him the first player from Indiana who Illinois has signed since 1985, according to the Champaign News-Gazette. Coleman goes to high school at LaLumiere Prep in LaPorte, Ind.

He's ranked as the No. 37 overall prospect in the 2015 class, according to Rivals.com.

Coleman joins Plainfield East guard Aaron Jordan and Simeon forward D.J. Williams in the Illini's 2015 class. Jordan is Rivals.com's No. 84 prospect, and Williams is rated No. 61.

Illinois still has one scholarship available in that class.
