One Hospitalized After Kennedy Expressway Shooting Near Belmont Avenue

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was shot early Saturday while driving on the Kennedy Expressway inbound near Belmont Avenue Saturday morning.

Police say shortly after 6:30 a.m. they responded to the scene of the reported shooting and found a 48-year-old driver alone in a vehicle.

He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

All lanes were closed for hours during an investigation, and traffic was diverted off at Kimball Avenue, Illinois State Police said.
