1 person killed in crash involving semi truck on I-88 in Kane County

CHICAGO (CBS)-- One person was killed in a crash involving a semi-truck on I-88 Wednesday morning.

Illinois State Police said just around 3:30 a.m., troopers responded to the crash at milepost 118 in Kane County. 

Initial reports say a 2018 Silver Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 27-year-old woman, was traveling westbound on I-88 near Mitchell Road when it struck a 2005 Red Peterbilt Truck Tractor. 

The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died. 

At last check, two lanes were closed for investigation.
