Pedestrian hit on I-57 in south Chicago suburb, all lanes reopen

Pedestrian hit by car on I-57 near 127th Street

Lanes have reopened on I-57 after a car hit a pedestrian near 127th Street in south suburban Calumet Park on Tuesday morning. 

All northbound lanes reopened before 9:30 a.m., after being closed for hours during the morning rush. 

According to Illinois State Police, troopers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian around 6 a.m. State police confirmed that the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital. 

The pedestrian's condition is unknown at this time.  

Illinois State Police is investigating the cause of the crash.
