Hundreds Of Flights Canceled As Snowstorm Hits Chicago Area

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Chicago area until noon Wednesday as a snow storm could dump as much as a half a foot of snow in some areas by Wednesday morning.

The snow will be heaviest late on Tuesday and will stop on Wednesday morning.

Most of the Chicago area could see three to five inches, with the southern part of the Chicago area possibly getting as much as eight inches.

According to the National Weather Service, wind gusts between 20-25 mph could limit visibility.

380 flights have been canceled at O'Hare in advance of the snow and 40 were canceled at Midway.
