Huge Lines For Southwest Passengers At Midway

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Travelers flying Southwest out of Midway Airport on Friday faced massively long lines to check in for their flights.

CBS 2's Lauren Victory reports passengers were snaking outside the terminal at 6:30 a.m. for curbside service.

And then inside the terminal, the lines backed into the hallways.

Earlier this week, the airline's computer systems crashed, causing huge delays and canceled flights.

Thursday night's storm also contributed to the problems.

"It's ridiculous to tell you the truth," said Southwest customer Dan Chapp. "The problem popped up two days ago, and they're still not recovered from it."

The lines, while still long, had become a bit more manageable by 9:30 a.m.
