Hot-Shooting Huff Leads Creighton Past DePaul, 88-66

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Cole Huff scored a season-high 28 points on 9-for-11 shooting as Creighton dominated DePaul, 88-66, on Saturday.

Geoffrey Grosselle added 15 points and 11 rebounds for Creighton (15-9, 6-5 Big East).

Isaiah Zierden made two free throws with 5:55 before halftime to give Creighton a 23-17 lead. Then Huff went on his own 10-0 run in a span of 1:22, including a 4-point play, back-to-back jumpers and a dunk, to put the Bluejays up 33-17.

In the last three minutes of the half, Huff hit two more 3s and a jumper. He scored all 18 of his first-half points in the final 5:14, shooting 7 for 7 from the field in 13 minutes of action.

Myke Henry led DePaul (8-15, 2-9) with 22 points.

DePaul trailed 47-27 but went on a 12-2 run to close the gap. Later, Huff's 3-pointer and two free throws put Creighton up 62-44 with 10 minutes left.
