Hot And Steamy Labor Day Weekend For Chicago Area

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Heat and humidity will be in full force through the long Labor Day weekend.

Hot and steamy conditions that have been the norm all week in Chicago should continue through Labor Day, with highs in the upper 80s or low 90s each of the next four days, according to the National Weather Service.

That should make for great conditions to hit the beach or pool one more time this summer.

Most of the next seven days also have some chance of rain, with a few spotty showers coming into play Friday afternoon and evening. Scattered showers or storms are possible again Saturday and on Labor Day, but none of the storms over the long weekend are expected to be significant, and should not last long.

Temperatures should start getting back to normal in the middle of the week, with a high of about 80 on Tuesday, and in the mid 70s on Wednesday and Thursday.
