Homeland Security Officer Injured In Hit-And-Run Crash

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Homeland Security officer was injured Thursday morning, in a hit-and-run crash in the West Elsdon neighborhood.

Police said an 18-year-old driver struck a Homeland Security vehicle around 6:15 a.m. at the intersection of 57th and Hamlin. The driver fled the scene, but crashed into a second vehicle around the block a short time later, and was arrested by Chicago police.

The Homeland Security officer was taken to the hospital with shoulder pain.

Further details were not immediately available Thursday morning.
