(CBS) -- This stretch of bitter days is challenging for even the healthiest of people. That's why it's so important to check on those who need help.

Those who deal with the elements to make sure people stay healthy  are even more appreciated at times like these.

CBS 2's Dana Kozlov reports.

Cindy Uribe is a home health care nurse from Gottlieb Memorial Hospital.  On Thursday, she was checking on 82-year-old Jack Gallo, one of her regular patients.

It's what Uribe does.  But on snowy, freezing days like these, what she does makes an even bigger difference to those she helps. If Uribe couldn't get there, Gallo's daughter says his health and well-being check would be in jeopardy.
