Man Dies After Hit-And-Run Crash In North Lawndale, Doctors Find Gunshot Wound To His Head

CHICAGO (CBS)-- A man who died after a hit-and-run crash in North Lawndale early Tuesday morning also suffered a gunshot wound to his head, according to police.

The man, who was between 25 and 35 years old, was struck by a vehicle in the 3700 block of West Douglas Boulevard around 3:40 a.m. The driver fled the scene.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, and was pronounced dead about four hours later, police said. A doctor said the man also had a gunshot wound to his head.

No one was in custody Tuesday morning.

Area Four Detectives were investigating.
