High Wind Advisory In Effect For Chicago Area

(CBS) -- The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the Chicago area that is in effect until 3 a.m.

The advisory went into effect at 6 p.m. as strong storms head to the Chicago area. The storms are weakening as the approach the area, but are still packing strong winds.

The NWS says the storms could bring sustained winds of 35 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph.

The storms come on a day of unseasonably warm weather. THe high for Wednesday was 59, just short of the record of 62 set in 1982.
