Heyman: Cubs, White Sox Seen As Serious Threats To Get Tanaka

(CBS) We already know both the Cubs and White Sox are interested in signing Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka, but now it appears they may be the frontrunners.

According to CBSSports.com reporter and 670 The Score contributor Jon Heyman, other teams consider both the Cubs and White Sox to be "serious players" for Tanaka and one MLB executive said Tanaka is the Cubs' to lose.

Heyman writes: "Both Chicago teams are starting to be viewed at least by their competitors as serious players for star Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka, though the deep-pocketed Dodgers and Yankees, as well as others, remain seriously interested and cannot be counted out in what promises to be a spirited derby for the international star."
