(CBS) -- Those affected by the heroin epidemic are invited to a meeting Saturday evening in DuPage County.

WBBM Newsradio's Mike Krauser reports.

It's the first open meeting of Heroin Anonymous in DuPage County. A recovering addict who asked to be referred to as "Jason" says the meeting is open to anyone in recovery – or even their family members or friends.

"The family member of the heroin addict oftentimes suffers just as much, if not more, than the addict," he says.

He says things can change for an addict after attending a meeting.

Saturday's meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Serenity House in Addison.
