Man Charged In Fatal Hermosa Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was charged with murder Wednesday night in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in the Hermosa neighborhood a day before.

Raul Martinez, 24, was charged with one count of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 28-year-old Robert Roseneau Tuesday night.

Roseneau was standing in front of a residence in the 2000 block of North Pulaski about 10:30 p.m. when someone walked up and shot him several times, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Nearby officers on patrol saw Martinez running from the scene of the shooting and drop a handgun, police said. He was apprehended in the 4000 block of West Armitage after a short foot chase.

Martinez, of the 1400 block of South Canal, is scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday.
