Handful Of '05 World Series Teammates Coming Back For Konerko's Ceremony

(CBS) A bunch of Paul Konerko's old friends will be on hand Saturday to see the White Sox honor the retiring first baseman who ranks among the franchise's all-time greatest players.

2005 World Series teammates Brian Anderson, Joe Crede, Ross Gload, Scott Podsednik and Chris Polittle will be in attendance, the White Sox announced. So too will former teammates Jim Thome, Chris Getz, Mark Kotsay, Sean Lowe and Craig Wilson.

The pregame ceremony ahead of the 6:10 p.m. game the Royals will include presentations with the special guests as well as video tributes to Konerko's career.

Konerko is the White Sox all-time leader in total bases, and his 432 homers rank second in franchise history behind Hall of Famer Frank Thomas.
