Chicago Paramedic Dead After Being Found In Burning Mt. Greenwood House

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago firefighters discovered one of their own -- a paramedic -- shot inside a burning home in Mt. Greenwood on Thursday. He has died, authorities confirmed.

Crews responded Thursday afternoon to a fully involved house fire at 114th and South St. Louis. Once they extinguished the blaze, firefighters found a gunshot wound victim in the basement, officials said.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
