Greyhound Passenger Stranded In Chicago: 'I'm About To Lose It'

(CBS) -- Snow is making bus travel in the southeast difficult, and Greyhound is canceling bus routes because the roads are just too dangerous.

Chicago is feeling the impact. Some passengers stranded here say they're frustrated and worn out. Some have been stuck at Greyhound's South Loop terminal since Sunday and may not leave until Tuesday.

CBS 2's Jim Williams reports.

Kim Pittman is trying to return home to South Carolina.

"I'm tired. I'm hurt. I'm getting sick. It's just miserable," she says.

Jacob Arredondo has to get back to his job in Florida.

"I'm stuck here extra days, losing money. I don't have no money to get a hotel,  much less a soda. What am I supposed to do?" he says.

Greyhound is keeping some buses parked here in Chicago because of snow in the south and east, where Pittman and Arredondo are trying to go.

Pittman and Arredondo say they do understand the roads might be too dangerous to drive. Pittman says she wishes the bus company would provide some type of accommodations for passengers, even if were just an area to rest.

Greyhound says it doesn't provide hotel rooms because passengers need to stay in the terminal, ready to go, in case buses are given the green light to leave quickly.

Pittman says she's waited long enough.

"I'm about to lose it. I want to go home," she says.

Greyhound provided food vouchers to Pittman and Arrendondo Monday. No buses were being allowed south of Memphis and Indianapolis.
