Gold Coin Worth $1,800 Dropped Into The Salvation Army Red Kettle In St. Charles

CHICAGO (CBS)-- A gold coin worth approximately $1,800 was dropped into one of The Salvation Army red kettles in St. Charles.

According to officials, the coin was a 1oz gold South African coin.

Someone put it in a kettle outside the Blue Goose Market.

This is the first gold coin of the season dropped in a red kettle.
