Woman Sexually Assaulted In Brighton Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman was dragged into a car, and sexually assaulted in the Brighton Park neighborhood Sunday night.

The 37-year-old told police she was walking to a store in the 4300 block of South Sacramento Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, when a man drove up in a black Pontiac, and engaged her in conversation.

The man then exited the vehicle and held a cloth to the woman's face and sexually assaulted her. She said she passed out, and woke up in the man's car. He then pointed a gun at her and told her to get out. An officer with Police News Affairs originally said the victim was a 14-year-old girl, but police later said the victim was a 37-year-old woman.

Police had only a vague description of her attacker.

No one was in custody Tuesday morning. Anyone with information about the attack should call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
