Girl, 17, Hurt In Woodlawn Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A bullet grazed a teen girl's head in the South Side Woodlawn neighborhood Wednesday afternoon, leaving her seriously hurt.

The girl, 17, was in the 6400 block of South Stony Island Avenue about 3:20 p.m. when she suffered a graze wound to the head, police News Affair Officer Veejay Zala said.

She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, Zala said.

Further details about the shooting were not yet known as Area Central detectives investigate.
