Girl, 15, Shot In West Englewood Drive-By

(STMW) -- A 15-year-old girl was shot early Monday in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The girl was talking with friends about 1 a.m. near an alley in the 6900 block of South Justine when a dark-colored four-door Pontiac pulled up and someone inside opened fire, police said.

She was shot in the leg as she ran away, police said. The Pontiac took off westbound on 69th Street.

The girl was taken to University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, where her condition had stabilized, police said.
