Girl, 15, Shot During Domestic Incident In Roseland

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A teenage boy is charged with accidentally shooting his girlfriend while showing her a gun in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood Friday afternoon.

The 15-year-old girl was at her boyfriend's home in the 10000 block of South Perry Avenue about 3:30 p.m. when her boyfriend, also 15, showed her a gun and the gun accidentally discharged, hitting her in the chin, police said.

She was taken in "stable" condition to Comer Children's Hospital, police said.

The boy was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon with a defaced serial number before being transferred to juvenile court for processing, police said.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
