CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Gary man has been charged with firing shots at a family last week in northwest Indiana.

On Feb. 1, 34-year-old Virgil M. Johnson fired a handgun at a female, who had her adult brother and four children with her in the 1600 block of Georgia Street, according to Gary police.
