Smash-and-grab thieves break into Gamestop in Scottsdale

Chicago police are searching for multiple people involved in a smash-and-grab burglary early Saturday in the Scottsdale neighborhood on the city's South Side.

Police said, around 4:45 a.m., a group of burglars crashed a sedan into a Gamestop near 79th and Cicero.

The thieves then stole games and gaming equipment from inside and fled the scene, leaving behind a mess of shattered glass and twisted metal from the security door.

No injuries were reported.

No one was in custody Saturday afternoon. Area 1 detectives were investigating.
