Fund-Raiser To Provide New Winter Coats To Kids

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The children of Burke Elementary School need your help.

The FBI Chicago Citizens Academy Alumni Association has launched a fund-raiser to provide new winter coats to the 395 students attending the school in the city's Washington Park neighborhood.

Donations are tax deductible. Just $20 will provide a coat to one child; $200 will provide warmth and comfort to 10 children.

The deadline for donations is Oct. 24.

The coats will be delivered to the school on Nov. 12.

"This most basic need will make these children feel special, encourage school attendance on cold winter days and be a financial blessing to their families," the alumni association said in a statement.
