Overnight temperature drop bringing arctic cold to Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) — One more mild day is ahead with sunny skies before a major overnight temperature drop.
The arctic front arrives Friday night, with the possibility of light rain. A wintry mix may take shape after midnight.
Leftover flurries are expected for Northwest Indiana on Saturday morning.
Polar air moves in Sunday, and that bitter air mass will remain in place through the middle of next week. Weather alerts for dangerous wind chills will take effect from Sunday to Wednesday.
Tuesday morning will be the coldest with the possibility of wind chills dropping to -30 degrees.
