Fr. Pfleger: Legacy Of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Lives On

(CBS) -- A day ahead of the federal holiday in his name, parishioners at St. Sabina Church celebrated the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Sunday.

Speaking to a packed house, Fr. Michael Pfleger said times have changed, but Dr. King's legacy lives on.

"Whenever we stand up for justice, he lives, "Pfleger said. "Whenever we choose love over hate, he lives. Whenever we choose peace over violence, he lives. He continues to live and the God that moved him moves us."

Services began with actor Harry Lennix, a Chicago native. He reminded the congregation that Dr. King was considered a radical and a menace by many people 50 years ago.
