Four Shot In Evanston

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Four people were wounded in a shooting Tuesday night in north suburban Evanston.

Officers responded shortly after 10 p.m. to a call of a shooting near Foster Street and Jackson Avenue, according to a statement from Evanston police. Witnesses told them multiple people were standing in the area when a suspect in a field north of them fired several shots in the group's direction.

A 24-year-old man from Evanston was shot in the head; a 17-year-old girl from Evanston suffered gunshot wounds to the arm and leg; a 19-year-old woman from Evanston was shot in the ankle and took herself to the hospital; and a 32-year-old man from Skokie was shot in the hand and went to the 800 block of Clark Street to notify authorities, police said.

All four victims were being treated at Evanston Hospital for injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, police said.
