Four Rivers Near Flood Stage After Monday's Rain

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Monday's deluge resulted in isolated flooding, but four Chicago area rivers remain near their flood stage, according to the National Weather Service.
Readings from the NWS Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service show the north branch of the Chicago River, the Des Plaines River, Fox River and DuPage River are all within range of reaching their flood stage.
All of the following reading are from 2 p.m. on Wednesday:
The North Branch of the Chicago River in Niles is currently at 6.5 feet, down from 8.19 feet as of midday Tuesday. The record level for that area is around 12 feet.
The Des Plaines River in River Forest stood at 12 feet, down from 12.25 feet on Tuesday. Flood stage is 16 feet.
The Fox River at Yorkville is at 14.18 feet, down slightly from 14.44 on Tuesday.
The Little Calumet River in Munster, Ind., was very close to its 12-foot flood stage on Tuesday afternoon, but it has since receded to 10.25 feet.
The minimum flood stage means that those areas are in danger of experiencing minor flooding.
There is no significant rain in the forecast, but there are storms possible on Saturday and Sunday.
