Forbes Values Blackhawks At $925M

(CBS) The Chicago Blackhawks have been valued at $925 million by Forbes in a new study that was released Tuesday. The Blackhawks are estimated to be the fourth-most valuable franchise in the NHL.

The New York Rangers were the highest-valued team, checking in at $1.2 billion. The Canadiens and Maple Leafs are second and third, respectively.

The Blackhawks' value has increased with the help of three Stanley Cup championships in the past six seasons, including 2015. The value increased 12 percent in the past year, according to Forbes.

"The Blackhawks have generated in the neighborhood of $100 million of incremental operating income from capturing three Stanley Cups over the past six seasons," Forbes wrote.
