Flooding Shuts Down Eisenhower Ramp To Dan Ryan

(STMW) -- Flooding after a night of heavy rain has shut down the ramp from the eastbound Interstate 290 Eisenhower Expressway to the outbound Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94) Sunday morning.

Most of I-94 and its exits were shut down near the Jane Byrne Interchange overnight due to the flooding, but as of 9 a.m. only the Eisenhower ramp remained closed, according to Illinois State Police. Authorities didn't have an estimate for when it would reopen as water levels recede.

Parts of the Chicago area saw between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain from Saturday night into Sunday, according to preliminary totals from the National Weather Service.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms that could become severe are in Sunday's forecast, with a high of 82.
