Five In Custody After Stolen Vehicle Recovered In Glen Ellyn

(CBS) -- Five people are in custody after a stolen vehicle was recovered early Monday in west suburban Glen Ellyn.

At 3:00 a.m., deputies located a stolen vehicle near Route 53 and Butterfield Road, according to a statement from the DuPage County sheriff's office.

Five suspects were taken into custody after they initially ran away from deputies, according to the sheriff's office. Charges are pending.

The sheriff's office has been investigating more than 30 vehicle burglaries in the area, according to the sheriff's office.

Also happening in the same area this morning about an hour after suspects were arrested, a middle-age man was found dead after a house fire in Glen Ellyn.

Police say the fire that happened and the 30 burglaries are not connected.
