Puppy rescued from Dolton house fire

Firefighters rescued a puppy early Monday from a fire in the south Chicago suburb of Dolton.

At 1:30 a.m., crews were called for a fire in a house at 14745 Woodlawn Ave. in Dolton. The fire started on the second floor of the house and extended to the first.

The Dolton Fire Department said there were no injuries. But during the response, firefighters rescued a puppy from the house.

The fire remained under investigation Monday morning.
